Job summary

Katalyst CRO is seeking a Software V&V Engineer (Embedded) to thoroughly analyze requirements, design robust test cases, and apply instrumentation for coverage analysis in a DO-178B/C context. You will execute tests on target hardware/software, report defects, and ensure traceability across requirements, design, and results.

The role requires hands-on experience with RTRT tools and SCA activities, collaboration with System and Software Development teams, and a STEM degree.

Qualifications

• Analyze software requirements to develop complete test cases for functional and non-functional areas.
• Design detailed software verification test cases with inputs, outputs, and coverage logic.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, design, tests and results to satisfy certification standards.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly analyze software requirements to develop comprehensive test cases that cover all functional and non-functional aspects of the system.
• Build instrumentation, SCA Build creation, and coverage analysis.
• Hands-on experience in RTRT tool usage for SCA activities.
• Design and document detailed software verification test cases, including input parameters, expected outputs, and coverage analysis to ensure thorough testing.
• Execute test cases on the target hardware and software platforms, documenting test results and deviations from expected behavior.
• Identify, report, and track software defects discovered during testing, working with development teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Perform code coverage analysis to ensure adequate testing of all components and paths, meeting DO-178B/C standards.
• Prepare detailed software verification reports with test results, pass/fail criteria, deviations and acceptance justifications.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, design documents, test cases and test results to demonstrate compliance with certification standards.
• Coordinate and collaborate with System and Software Development teams.
