Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Embedded Software Test Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team focused on missile defense systems. You will lead testing activities for embedded platforms, develop automation, and validate interfaces between software, firmware, and hardware.

The role requires strong Python skills and experience with test frameworks, RTMs, and CI/CD integration. The position involves collaboration with software, hardware, and systems engineers to ensure reliable, high‑quality embedded

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, SE, EE or related discipline.
• 4+ years of software testing, integration, and verification for embedded systems (or 2+ years with MS).
• Experience with embedded systems testing and hardware/software platforms.
• Experience with software automation testing and automated test environments.
• Strong Python scripting and debugging skills.
• Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex test data.
• Experience mapping requirements to test scenarios and RTMs.
• Experience validating interfaces between software, firmware, and hardware.
• Experience supporting regression and performance testing.
• Experience with Wireshark, Jira, and CI/CD integration.
• Experience generating software test documentation (STPs, STDs, STRs).
• Experience performing unit, integration, regression, performance, and formal testing.
• Strong troubleshooting across embedded software, networking, hardware integration, and automation.
• Experience post-test analysis and documenting results.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and analyze full software test lifecycle from planning through post-test analysis and reporting.
• Troubleshooting across embedded software, networking, hardware interfaces, and automated test environments.
• Collaborating with software developers, systems engineers, hardware engineers, and stakeholders to ensure quality, reliability, and performance.
