Job summary

RTX McKinney, TX is seeking a Software Security Engineer II to join the on-site Software Product Assurance team. You will implement secure software practices for embedded sensor software and work across languages to support real-time systems. A DoD Secret clearance is required as a condition of hire.

Ideal candidates have C/C++, scripting experience, and familiarity with RTOS, Linux, and DevSecOps practices, plus collaboration with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM from an accredited university.
• 2+ years of relevant software experience required; or a Master’s degree with same.
• Experience with C/C++ and scripting languages (Python/Perl).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum/Kanban software development environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain interim Secret U.S. clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Implement Software Security principles for embedded real-time sensor software development and testing.
• Develop software applications across multiple languages on diverse platforms.
• Ensure Software Product Assurance processes are followed on programs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define TDMC-based execution requirements.
• Support program readiness and contribute to secure boot concepts and cryptographic practices.
