Job summary

OTTO Engineering, Inc. is seeking an Embedded Software Intern for the Communications Division to support the software team on wireless system projects and power-management accessories for two-way radios.

You will contribute to embedded programming, DSP/AI algorithm development, and hardware-aware design in a hands-on lab environment. The internship requires pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science, with coursework in embedded systems, C or Python, and

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience with embedded systems, C/Python programming, and hardware schematic design.
• Strong desire to learn and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Embedded Programming: Develop embedded C, C++ or Python code for wireless systems and mission-critical applications.
• Algorithm Development: DSP/AI/ML algorithms for audio processing and sensor fusion.
• Hardware Design: Create/modify hardware architectures and PCB schematics using Altium.
• Testing & Prototyping: Build prototypes, perform lab testing and engineering tests.

Embedded Software Intern

will perform a variety of duties to support the Software Engineering team for the Communications Division.

Embedded Software Intern’s responsibilities will include:

• Embedded Programming: Develop embedded C, C++ or Python code for wireless systems, mission-critical applications, or physical AI systems.
• Algorithm Development: Development DSP, AI/ML algorithms for audio processing and sensor fusion.
• Hardware Design: Create or modify hardware system architectures and PCB schematics using Altium.
• Testing & Prototyping: Build product prototypes, perform lab testing, conduct engineering tests, and handle technology research

What you’ll need to bring to the table:

• Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science).
• Skills: Experience or coursework in embedded systems, C/Python programming, and hardware schematic design.
• A strong desire to learn
• Good communication skills
• 100% on-site
