Job summary

OTTO Engineering, Inc. in Carpentersville, IL, is seeking a Human Resources Intern for Summer 2027. The intern will support the HR team by updating job descriptions, assisting with newsletters, managing bulletin boards, coordinating safety drills, and supporting events and recruitment tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and current college enrollment in HR/Communications/Business. Strong communication and MS Word/Excel skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with other related duties as required or assigned

OTTO’s opportunity:

Our Human Resources Intern will perform a variety of duties to support the HR Team.

Specifically, the Human Resources Intern will:

• Review and Update Company Job Descriptions
• Assist HR Generalist with monthly employee newsletter
• Updates all bulletin boards
• Conduct annual employee vision screenings
• Assist with yearly Fire and Tornado Drills
• Take photos of company events, as needed
• Help with company events – picnic, cookouts, etc.

What you’ll need to bring to the table:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Must be currently enrolled in college, seeking a degree in HR, Communications, Business Administration or a related field
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be computer literate – working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel applications
• Must be well organized, accurate, and able to work independently
• Curious and willing to learn new skills
