Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond, WA, is seeking an Embedded Software Development Engineer to build and scale VirtSat, a Virtual Satellite Simulation platform. You will own the Graviton virtualization layer, manage VM lifecycles, and deploy software across virtual satellites and ground systems on EC2 bare-metal infrastructure running QEMU.

Qualifications

• BS in CS, EE, or equivalent discipline.
• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• Experience with Linux systems programming and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Own the Graviton bare-metal virtualization layer with VM management.
• Develop embedded software for virtualization and emulation layers.
• Write device drivers and system apps for satellite systems.
• Interact with micro-controllers and emulated hardware peripherals.
• Build and maintain the custom AMI pipeline for satellite dependencies.
• Develop provisioning scripts for satellite software onto emulated LRUs.
• Extend plugin framework for new LRU types on Graviton host.
• Build network virtualization between VMs and TT&C link emulation.
• Optimize boot-time and provisioning latency for QEMU-based satellites.
