Job summary

Viasat is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for its Secure Network Systems unit. The role focuses on developing software for encrypted communications, including inline network encryptors and embedded cryptographic devices. The team collaborates across system, test, and hardware disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's in a technical field, 0–3 years of experience, and U.S. Citizenship with an active security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 0–3 years of full-time relevant experience preferred.
• U.S. Citizenship and active SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance required.
• Embedded software design in C/C++ or Rust; Linux OS for embedded env.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software in C/C++ and Rust.
• Develop in Linux-based embedded environments and kernel drivers.
• Work with TCP/IP and network configurations in embedded systems.
• Participate in Agile Scrum, plan progress, and support CI/CD.
• Collaborate with system, test, and hardware engineers on new capabilities.
• Travel up to 10% as needed.
