Job summary

Viasat is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer within Secure Network Systems (SNS) - Viasat Government. You will design and implement embedded software for encrypted communications, interfacing with system, test, and hardware engineers.

The role requires 0-3 years of experience, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, U.S. Citizenship with an active SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance, and willingness to relocate to the Viasat office. You’ll work five days a week on site and may travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of full-time, relevant industry experience.
• U.S. Citizenship with an active SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance.
• Experience with embedded software in C/C++ or Rust.
• Linux OS use, ideally for an embedded environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software in C/C++ and Rust.
• Develop Linux kernel drivers and modifications.
• Interface with system, test, and hardware engineers for new capabilities.
• Work on TCP/IP networking and cryptographic solutions.
• Participate in Agile Scrum development and CI/CD pipelines.
