Job summary

Rockwell Automation in Mayfield Heights, OH, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and test safety- and security-critical software for programmable logic controllers (PLCs). You will join a new product team focused on Motion control, applying modern tools in a hybrid work setting.

You will work across hardware and software environments, contribute to CI/CD, and mentor peers while advancing embedded RTOS or Linux based solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• US work authorization required.
• 5+ years of embedded software experience.
• Experience with embedded RTOS or Linux.
• Familiarity with automated testing and Python.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design.

Responsibilities

• Develop safety- and security-critical embedded software for PLCs.
• Work across hardware and software environments including SoCs.
• Build and maintain automated tests for new features.
• Use CI/CD tools and drive toolchain improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge.
