Job summary

Technology Service Corporation in Huntsville, AL seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to join our engineering team. You will work on embedded Linux software for RF sensor products, under guidance from senior engineers, and contribute to design, development, testing, and documentation.

The ideal candidate has a background in embedded systems, Linux, and real-time software, with strong problem-solving and teamwork skills. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years of professional software development experience.
• Internships, academic projects, research, or co-op experience may be considered.
• C or C++ coursework or project experience.
• Foundational software development principles, including data structures and debugging.
• Ability to read technical docs, software requirements and interfaces.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, integration, verification, and testing of embedded Linux software systems.
• Develop and maintain C/C++ software for embedded platforms.
• Develop interfaces for hardware devices, sensors, and networking protocols.
• Create Python- and Bash-based scripts to support testing and automation.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, FPGA, and test engineers to enable system-level capabilities.
• Write and maintain software documentation and test procedures.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and requirements analysis.
