Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Dulles, VA is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer at Level 3 or 4 to develop flight software for space systems. The role requires a Secret clearance and is onsite with a 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off.

You will work on board support, device drivers, and integration with simulation and hardware-in-the-loop platforms, collaborating across disciplines to meet requirements and verification plans.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required.
• Bachelor's in STEM with 5+ years of experience or Master’s with 3+ years; PhD with 1+ year also acceptable.
• Advanced programming in C/C++ and Python; Linux experience.
• Understanding of embedded tools, RTOS, avionics integration and test practices.
• Familiarity with Stellar or CFS.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software modules for flight systems.
• Configure board support packages and device drivers.
• Collaborate with engineers to define requirements, testing and verification plans.
• Analyze system resources to improve efficiency, stability and speed.
• Prepare design documentation and test results for internal and external customers.
• Support integration on simulation and hardware-in-the-loop platforms.
