Job summary

Amazon Leo seeks a Software Development Engineer II to design and build software for customer terminals deployed in the field, collaborating with hardware, firmware, networking, and cloud teams to bring features from design through testing and launch.

You will improve connection speed, reliability, and diagnostics across a growing fleet, with responsibilities spanning from implementation to validation on live hardware and monitoring across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience
• 2+ years of design/architecture experience in large systems
• 1+ years of software development engineer experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming in at least one modern language (C++, Rust, C, Java, Python)
• 1+ years of experience developing large-scale, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services

Responsibilities

• Improve the speed and reliability of the customer's internet connection on the terminal.
• Build software that gives customers and support teams the tools to detect and resolve issues on their own, reducing the need for on-site visits.
• Deliver device health and diagnostics data from the fleet reliably and efficiently, so engineering has visibility into terminal performance.
• Own features end to end — design, implementation, testing, code review, deployment, and validation on live hardware.
