Job summary

Treetown Tech in Ann Arbor, MI, seeks Embedded Software Engineers for a hybrid role with flexible schedule and work-from-home days. You will develop embedded software for cutting-edge R&D projects across consumer and military spaces, collaborating across teams to craft architecture and verification tools.

The role emphasizes hands-on debugging, documentation, and end-user collaboration, with bonus familiarity in MATLAB/Simulink, web frameworks, and databases.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience developing embedded software.
• Experience with C or C++ programming; Python is a bonus.
• Good understanding of low-level microcontroller programming.
• Familiarity with unit testing and CI/CD toolchains for embedded development.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Ability to work directly with end-users and customers.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow is a bonus.
• Experience with web frameworks (Django, Flask, React, Vue.js) is a bonus.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and ORMs (ODB, Django, SQLAlchemy) is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for R&D projects in consumer and military space.
• Collaborate with software department and project teams to design software architecture.
• Test and debug new and existing platforms.
• Maintain software documentation and version control.
• Design and develop Windows and Linux based software test verification tools.
