Job summary

Mercury Systems in Andover, MA is seeking a motivated Software Engineer co-op for July–December 2027 to contribute to our Programmable Solutions Group. This hands-on role supports Linux-based software products powering Mercury's embedded high-performance computer modules.

You will develop test automation, diagnose quality bugs, perform unit testing, and create user-facing documentation while collaborating with a dynamic software team. The position is onsite in Andover, requires U.S.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in bachelor’s or master’s in computer engineering or computer science.
• Minimum GPA 3.1; transcripts required during review.
• Familiarity with Python scripting.
• Experience with software written in C.
• Experience with Linux development environments and tools.
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Git/Bitbucket) for version control.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants and agentic development tools (OpenAI, Claude, Cline, Opencode).

Responsibilities

• Develop test automation for software products.

• Perform unit testing for newly implemented features.
