Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join the Space and Defense Group at the Santa Barbara site.

The role focuses on designing, coding, debugging, and integrating real-time embedded software for turreted weapons systems (RIwP), with on-site work in Santa Barbara, CA and about 10–15% travel. You will work on a team delivering robust software that meets demanding performance and quality requirements, while contributing to system integration in both lab and field environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of embedded real-time control software design/development/test experience.
  • C language proficiency; Java is a plus.
  • RTOS/bare metal and embedded Linux experience is a plus.
  • Experience with communication protocol drivers and stacks (networking, 1553, UART, SPI, I2C).
  • Ability to read electronic datasheets, schematics, and protocol documents.
  • Experience in Unix internals and low-level driver software is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel 10-15% and ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance.
