Job summary

Moog Space and Defense Group in Johnson City, TN is seeking an Embedded Software Design Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded software for military and aerospace markets. You will report to the Design Engineering Manager and be onsite in Johnson City.

You should have a Bachelor's in a related technical field and 3 years of embedded software experience; proficiency in C/C++, Bash, and Python, with HDL/RTL FPGA design experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate embedded software for military and aerospace markets.
• Develop and maintain embedded Linux BSP, bootloader, kernel, and configurations.
• Develop and maintain shell scripts, Python scripts, and C/C++ code for configuration and automation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve software and system issues.
• Create version descriptions and software releases following procedures.
• Perform code maintenance including debugging and updates in a fast-paced design environment.

Position Title

Embedded Software Design Engineer

Our team in Space and Defense - Power & Data is looking for an Embedded Software Design Engineer to join them. You will report to the Design Engineering Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or closely related technical field
• 3 years of embedded software engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• Proficient in C/C++, bash, and python scripting languages.
• Experience with HDL/RTL for FPGA design, testbench development, and simulation is strongly preferred.

As An Embedded Software Design Engineer, You Will

• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate embedded software and firmware designs for the military and aerospace markets.
• Develop and maintain embedded Linux board support packages (BSP), as well as bootloader, kernel, package management, and system/application configurations.
• Develop and maintain shell scripts, Python scripts, and C/C++ code for system configuration, automation, and application development.
• Work with internal team members to solve software and system issues
• Create version description documents and software releases according to established procedures.
• Perform code maintenance including debugging and updating to keep pace within a fast paced and evolving design environment.

Salary Range Transparency

Johnson City, TN $70,000.00–$100,000.00 Annually
