Job summary

Moog Inc. in Johnson City, TN is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Space and Defense Group. You will report to the Design Engineering Manager and work onsite in Johnson City, Tennessee, contributing to design tasks, stress analyses, and integration activities.

The role requires a Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering degree and 2 years of related experience, with SolidWorks and analysis tool proficiency. A hands-on engineering approach is essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and/or Electrical Engineering.
• 2 years of relevant engineering experience preferred.
• Experience in design engineering - performance and stress analysis of designs, GD&T, component selection.
• Experience with CAD programs (preferably SolidWorks) and analysis tools.
• Hands-on experience with assembly of mechanical parts (machining, drilling, fastening, measuring, 3D printing).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the preparation and execution of key design engineering tasks at Moog.
• Provide technical support to engineers, as needed.
• Provide input on project processes, strategies, and execution.
• Design and draft new and existing development hardware.
• Utilize clean sheet solutions for cost analysis.
• Analyze and modify heritage designs.
• Prepare stress and performance analysis calculations.
• Provide hands-on integration help – modifying parts through machining, creating 3D-printed fixturing solutions, and assisting with integration.
• Present mechanical engineering design work in various program milestone reviews.

Our team in Space and Defense - Power & Data is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join them. You will report to the Design Engineering Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Johnson City, Tennessee.

To be considered for the Mechanical Design Engineer, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

Salary Range Transparency

Johnson City, TN $70,000.00–$100,000.00 Annually
