You will work with hardware and software teams to optimize drivers (I2C, SPI, UART, DMA) and implement secure OTA updates, low‑power modes, and robust debugging with GDB, SWD, and J‑Link, while driving code reviews and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and support embedded software solutions tailored for ARM Cortex-M architectures.
  • Create robust firmware utilizing Embedded C within both bare-metal and RTOS environments.
  • Enhance system performance by optimizing drivers for peripherals such as I2C, SPI, UART, DMA, GPIO, timers, and watchdogs.
  • Design efficient bootloaders and low-power firmware update processes to extend product longevity.
  • Develop wireless solutions including mesh networking, Z-Wave, and sub-GHz protocols to enable device connectivity.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
  • Utilize debugging tools like GDB, SWD, J-Link to troubleshoot and validate performance.
  • Contribute to secure firmware architectures and reliable OTA update processes.

  • Foster a culture of quality by engaging in documentation efforts, code reviews, and ongoing process improvements.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications
  • Possess a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrate professional expertise in developing embedded software using Embedded C.
  • Show proven ability working with ARM Cortex‑M microcontrollers in RTOS or bare‑metal environments.
  • Exhibit mastery of interrupt‑driven designs and the configuration of embedded peripherals such as UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, DMA, timers, and watchdogs.
  • Display experience in the creation of low‑power applications, firmware update systems, and bootloaders.
  • Utilize debugging tools like GDB, SWD, or J‑Link to resolve complex system issues.
  • Communicate effectively across teams to drive project success while maintaining the ability to work autonomously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Utilize Silicon Labs wireless stack APIs, Simplicity Studio, Gecko SDK, or EFR32 hardware.
  • Apply practical knowledge of low‑power wireless sensor networks, mesh networking, Z‑Wave, or proprietary sub‑GHz protocols.
  • Implement industry‑standard embedded security practices, including encrypted OTA updates, secure pairing, firmware signing, and secure boot.
  • Leverage modern development workflows such as CI/CD pipelines, Git, automated testing, state‑machine design, and modular architecture.
  • Understand RF fundamentals, including wireless certification, EMC/EMI troubleshooting, antenna performance, and RF optimization.
  • Bring relevant experience from the IoT, industrial, smart home, or HVAC sectors.
