Job summary

Amazon seeks a Device Software Development Manager for the Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) team to design and develop embedded software for satellite and ground systems, focusing on fault‑tolerant, real‑time platforms and secure, high‑performance solutions.

You will lead the software integration team, collaborate with hardware, systems and product groups, hire and mentor engineers, and drive end‑to‑end delivery of embedded capabilities for secure, reliable connectivity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of direct engineering experience.
• 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi‑tier web services.
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/network development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

• Work with peer teams and customers to design suitable platform software systems and interfaces with underlying hardware.
• Define, build, and lead the software integration team responsible for all embedded deliverables.
• Develop a strategic plan for the growth of the team, focusing on software and integrated mission outcomes.
• Hire and develop a diverse team of software engineers.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate various system elements, both hardware and software.
