Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking an Embedded Security Engineer for Starlink to design and build security infrastructure across our satellite and consumer systems, including cryptographic services and security-critical components.

You will influence the security posture of Starlink by implementing robust protections and integrating security into factory processes while collaborating with multiple engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science or STEM or 2+ years in security software if no degree
• Experience designing security solutions for OS, distributed systems, or infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink, including cryptographic services and security-critical services
• Develop security features for Starlink systems (router, dish, gateways, satellites)
• Design security into factory processes and provide network services in support of this
• Maintain existing production systems and improve security posture via implementation and guidance to teams
• Build prototypes and help identify, design, and test security improvements
• Further our mission of providing secure and reliable Internet to underserved communities
