Job summary

SpaceX seeks an Embedded Security Engineer to design and implement security for Starlink infrastructure, from satellites to user terminals, with focus on cryptography and secure boot. You’ll collaborate with software and hardware teams to harden systems and respond to threats while supporting production in Redmond, WA.

The role requires flexibility for extended hours and weekend work, strong communication, and a passion for advancing global connectivity via Starlink.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of security software development experience.
• Experience with Python, C++, or Golang and OS/distributed security design.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink, including cryptographic services.
• Develop security features for Starlink systems (router, dish, gateways, satellites).
• Design security into factory processes and provide network services in support.
• Maintain production systems and improve security posture via implementation and recommendations.
• Build prototypes and test security improvements.
• Advance secure and reliable Internet access for underserved communities.
