Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Embedded Security Engineer for Starlink to influence security across product lines. You will focus on cryptographic services and security-critical components across Starlink satellites, gateways, and networks.

The role requires a track record in shipping reliable software and a broad understanding of security design, including protocols and TPM/HSM integrations. You will work with multiple teams to outsmart adversaries and enable secure, global Internet access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline, OR 2+ years of professional security software development experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Go).
• Experience designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink, including cryptographic services and other security-critical services.
• Develop security features for Starlink systems, including routers, dishes, gateways, and satellites.
• Incorporate security into factory processes and support network services.
• Maintain and harden production systems; provide recommendations to other teams.
• Build prototypes and identify, design, and test security improvements.
• Support our mission of delivering secure Internet to underserved communities.
