Job summary

Ultra Intelligence & Communications in Tampa, FL, within Ultra Cyber, seeks an Embedded Rust Software Engineer 2 to develop embedded Rust for security-critical platforms. Some travel (~5%) and relocation assistance available.

The role involves converting C to Rust, architecture trade studies, and documentation across SRS/IRS/ICDs/SHDD, with Agile/Waterfall projects and a focus on quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of embedded software experience with C and Rust.
• Experience with ARM-based systems and SoC development.
• Security clearance required (US Government Secret).

Responsibilities

• Support embedded software development and C-to-Rust conversion.
• Perform architecture trade studies for Rust implementations.
• Create engineering documents (SRS, IRS, ICDs, SHDD).
• Define unit, integration, and acceptance test plans.
• Manage software configuration items and version control.
• Collaborate within Agile and Waterfall projects.
• Provide progress updates and participate in process improvements.
• Stay updated on new technologies to improve programs.
