Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer, RF Payloads (Starshield) in Hawthorne, CA to develop RF capabilities for proliferated satellite communications in low Earth orbit. You will work with RF, DSP, hardware and software teams to iterate from design to operational capability at pace.

The role requires a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, 1+ year in C/C++ or Python, and RF test equipment experience. Masters and TS/SCI clearance preferred; on-site with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of professional development in C/C++ or Python.
• 1+ years of experience with RF test equipment and related instruments.
• 1+ years of RF experience with antennas or communications systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive RF system design decisions at the program level.
• Research novel RF solutions for large-scale satellite systems.
• Design, build, validate, and automate RF test benches and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, DSP, and software engineers to validate RF systems.
• Create electromagnetic simulation models to evaluate performance.
