Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Specialist, Software Engineering in Salt Lake City to work on embedded real-time systems for military communications. You will design, implement, test, and update software across ground, air, shipboard, and space domains to support national security missions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, maintaining documentation, and ensuring safety and reliability of mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 4+ years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with 2+ years of related experience; in lieu of a degree, 8 years of related experience.
• Experience with RTOS and embedded targets; DoD clearance is preferred or must be obtainable.
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools, test frameworks, and hardware interfaces (PCIe, 1553, RS232, SPI, I2C, FPGAs).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the lifecycle of embedded real-time systems by designing, coding, testing, debugging, and updating developmental and fielded systems
• Maintain and review requirements, design documentation, and source code
• Collaborate with a cross-functional engineering team
