Collins Aerospace is seeking a System Security Engineer for its Embedded Product Cybersecurity Engineering team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The role defends mission-critical platforms against cyber threats and embeds with design teams to ensure SSDLC compliance.

The position emphasizes threat modeling, secure coding, code review, fuzzing, and certification work, with a strong emphasis on communication and collaboration in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or advanced cybersecurity degree, or 6 years relevant experience.
• Embedded software development experience in Linux environment.
• Experience coding in C, C++, Python or Rust; networking knowledge.
• Fluent in software development with a security mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop threat models and data flow diagrams for isolation.
• Implement MAC via SELinux policies in product code.
• Review code to identify weaknesses in security functions.
• Develop and execute fuzzing and penetration tests.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments of systems.
• Create cybersecurity certification artifacts to meet standards.
