Frederick Fox is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to lead hardware design and embedded power electronics for battery-powered products. This onsite role is based in South Carolina and involves cross-functional collaboration with hardware, firmware, and test engineers.

You will design firmware for power conversion and motor control, develop control algorithms, and contribute to prototyping, testing, and production readiness while maintaining high coding standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems.
• Strong knowledge of microcontrollers and RTOS concepts.
• Experience with power electronics and control systems.
• Familiarity with UART, SPI, I2C and USB communication.
• Experience debugging with lab equipment and tools.
• Ability to read schematics and datasheets.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented with high quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware in C and C++ for power electronics.
• Implement and optimize firmware for power stations, sources, and USB PD apps.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define system architecture and interfaces.
• Develop control algorithms for power conversion systems (AC/DC, DC/DC, inverters).
• Debug and troubleshoot firmware and hardware integration with lab equipment.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented code and participate in reviews.
• Participate in code/design reviews and system validation testing.
• Support prototyping, testing, certification, and production lifecycles.
• Optimize firmware for performance, memory, and power efficiency.
• Maintain version control and documentation for firmware projects.
