Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to lead the design and implementation of embedded power electronics for battery powered products at our Anderson, SC facility.

You will own hardware architecture, MOSFET switching, motor drives integration with firmware, and prototype/test embedded electronics to ensure reliability and performance in a fast-paced product development environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 3+ years in embedded electronics design with hardware ownership.
• Experience with power conversion and motor drives in embedded hardware.
• MOSFET switching in low voltage battery systems.
• Proficient with schematic capture and PCB layout support using Altium.

Responsibilities

• Design and take ownership of embedded hardware systems, including architecture, schematic capture, and component selection for battery powered products.
• Develop and debug MOSFET switching power stages and supporting circuits such as gate drives, protection systems, and current or voltage sensing.
• Support motor control hardware implementations, including inverter and bridge power stages, collaborating with firmware engineers.
• Prototype, test, and troubleshoot embedded electronics, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions with lab equipment.
• Lead design activities from component selection through layout, prototype builds, and test plan execution.

Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 + Bonus

The Electrical Engineer II will lead the design and implementation of embedded power electronics for battery powered products, ensuring innovation, reliability, and performance in a fast paced product development environment.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design and take ownership of embedded hardware systems, including architecture, schematic capture, and component selection for battery powered products
• Develop and debug MOSFET switching power stages and supporting circuits such as gate drives, protection systems, and current or voltage sensing for low voltage, high current applications
• Support motor control hardware implementations, including inverter and bridge power stages, while collaborating closely with firmware engineers to ensure seamless hardware and firmware integration
• Prototype, test, and troubleshoot embedded electronics, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, EMC tools, and other lab equipment
• Lead design activities from component selection through schematic capture, PCB layout, prototype builds, and test plan execution, while ensuring adherence to project schedules and development processes

What You Need for This Position

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in embedded electronics design with strong ownership of hardware and exposure to 32 bit microcontroller based circuits
• Demonstrated hands on design experience in power conversion and motor drives, particularly in embedded hardware implementations
• Practical knowledge of MOSFET switching in low voltage battery systems, including gate drive design, switching behavior, and protection requirements
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium, with the ability to support occasional PCB layout needs
