Job summary

RTX is seeking an Embedded Platform Software Engineer (P2) to join the Advanced Processing Architectures Software organization in Cedar Rapids. You will contribute to low-level platform software, including drivers, HAL patterns, initialization routines, and diagnostics, collaborating with senior engineers to grow technical independence.

You will deepen your understanding of embedded systems, platform-level development practices, and work within a multidisciplinary team to meet project milestones

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of embedded software experience.
• Experience programming in C or C++ for embedded environments; scripting experience expected.

Responsibilities

• Implement and test embedded platform software features with minimal guidance from senior engineers.
• Solve problems of limited complexity related to drivers, board-level interactions, platform initialization, or basic diagnostics.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and team technical activities.
• Document your work clearly, including design notes, test results, and integration steps.
• Communicate task status, risks, and technical questions effectively within the team.
