Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker invites graduates to join the Leadership Development Program – Software Engineering, Motor Control, in Towson, MD or New Britain, CT. You will design firmware for power tools, develop battery management and motor control software, and participate in three eight-month rotations across Engineering, Product Management and Operations.

A strong foundation in embedded C and ARM is desired. You’ll work in a collaborative, tech-driven environment, with relocation support,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering from an accredited college.
• Knowledge in developing embedded 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers in C.
• Experience with ARM architectures is preferred; assembly language is a plus.
• Familiarity with microcontroller peripherals such as timers, GPIO, UART, ADC, DMA and RTOS concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic firmware and specifications for power tools including brushless DC motor controls and battery management systems.
• Implement and validate electronic designs through software development, test and simulation.
• Develop software verification and validation procedures using unit and integration tests.
