Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Software Engineer II in Fort Wayne, IN to join an IPT and contribute to embedded Linux software for aerospace systems. You will design, develop, test, and integrate Linux-based solutions across build tools, kernel, and BSP.

Required: STEM degree or higher, 2+ years of embedded C/C++, Linux experience, and ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. Onsite role with relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM fields or advanced degree with hands-on embedded Linux work.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD security clearance.
• Experience with embedded C/C++ and Linux toolchains.
• Experience with hardware debugging and using schematics, logic analyzers, and Wireshark.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and integrate embedded Linux software for aerospace systems.
• Contribute to build systems, kernel, root filesystem, bootloader, and BSP.
• Analyze hardware/software issues and perform root-cause investigations.
• Prepare software builds for simulation, reference platforms and target hardware.
• Follow Collins Aerospace processes to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Estimate effort for changes and problem reports.
