Job summary

Scientific Research Corporation is seeking an Embedded Systems Software Engineer in Charleston, SC to work across the full embedded stack—from Linux configuration and drivers to container orchestration and waveform integration for the USMC SDR OE.

You will develop C/C++ device integration services, build container images, and automate pipelines with Python and Bash, while debugging ARM64 hardware interactions and software stacks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent practical experience with 3-5 years of embedded software engineering experience.
• Proficient in C and C++ (standard library, POSIX APIs) and able to navigate polyglot codebases.
• Strong Python and Bash scripting for automation and tooling.
• Solid Linux operating environment knowledge (RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS).
• Experience with container technologies (Docker/Podman) and multi-stage containerfiles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug modular embedded C/C++ applications and daemon services.
• Build, test, and optimize container images for embedded hardware.
• Automate container orchestration and system configuration with Python and Bash.
• Debug driver-level issues and perform hardware bring-up on ARM64 and x86_64.
• Investigate performance, memory, and interface issues across codebases.
• Support lab HIL testing and waveform demonstrations.
