Role Description

We are hiring an Embedded Linux Field Engineer for Devices/IoT to expand our reach into industries such as Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Systems, Robotics, and Telco, as well as Consumer Electronics. Ideal candidates are experienced Linux professionals with deep OS knowledge, proficient in containerization, system debugging, and embedded software development. This role involves working with Ubuntu and Ubuntu Core in connected devices and industrial environments, emphasizing security, resilience, and real-time Linux capabilities.

Responsibilities
  1. Engage with customers during presales to gather requirements and explain our technology
  2. Design and propose solutions to prospective clients
  3. Participate in delivering select Embedded Linux projects
  4. Communicate market requirements to stakeholders and contribute to solution development
  5. Act as a customer advocate and trusted advisor to Canonical
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Extensive experience with Linux, preferably Debian or Ubuntu
  • Distribution and packaging experience (deb, rpm, etc.)
  • Solid embedded Linux experience (Yocto, Buildroot, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
  • Professional fluency in English and local language (if applicable)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Result-oriented with multitasking ability
  • Self-motivated and quick learner
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% for customer and company engagements
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with customer engagement is a plus
