We are hiring Embedded Linux Field Engineer for Devices/IoT to expand into industries like Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Systems, Robotics, Telco, and Consumer Electronics. Candidates should be Linux experts, proficient in OS internals, containerization, debugging, and embedded development. Our Ubuntu Server edition is used in connected devices and industrial PCs, while Ubuntu Core offers advanced security for high-end appliances. Our portfolio includes real-time Linux capabilities and certifications, emphasizing reliability, security, and developer productivity.

This role requires a blend of skills: deep Linux knowledge, coding and scripting proficiency, experience with Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, and embedded software development methodologies. Candidates should enjoy fast-paced, diverse client engagements, be team-oriented, and committed to customer success. Field engineers are trusted to provide thoughtful, well-informed support across all aspects of our solutions.

Daily Responsibilities

• Engage customers during presales to gather requirements and explain our technology
• Design solutions for prospective clients
• Participate in delivering Embedded Linux projects
• Relay market requirements to internal stakeholders and contribute to solution development
• Act as a customer advocate and trusted advisor to Canonical

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Extensive Linux experience, preferably Debian/Ubuntu
• Experience with distribution/packaging (deb, rpm, etc.)
• Embedded Linux experience (Yocto, Buildroot, etc.)
• Proficiency in at least one of Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
• Professional fluency in English and local language (if applicable)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Result-oriented, multi-tasking ability
• Driven to meet commitments, quick learner, humble attitude
• Willing to travel up to 30% for customer meetings, events, and conferences
