Job summary

Spectrum Control is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design and implement infrastructure for deploying embedded Linux and supporting software on advanced products. You will develop C/C++ for ARM-based processors and contribute to Yocto-based builds, while creating testing methodologies to verify system operation.

The role demands 5+ years of embedded software experience, expert Linux knowledge, and strong scripting in Python/Bash. Occasional travel to our facilities is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, ECE, or CE
• 5+ years embedded software development experience
• Expert Linux and Yocto experience
• Strong C/C++ on ARM with cross-compilation and hardware interfaces
• Strong scripting in Python and Bash for build automation
• Experience with C#/.NET for test apps is a plus
• Experience with SCPI over VISA for test automation is a plus
• Knowledge of embedded security practices is a plus

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy the Linux OS using Yocto Build Flow
• Maintain software revisions and deployment using Git and Docker
• Develop embedded C/C++ software for ARM-based processors
• Develop computer networking software infrastructure
• Develop automated test software in C# to control RF test instruments and collect data
• Use AI tools to enhance productivity and problem solving
• Derive requirements and verification methods for embedded systems
• Produce detailed documentation of system functionality
• Provide internal and external customer support as needed
