HiArc is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern in New Hampshire to support the design, development, and testing of electrical components across active product development programs. You will assist with circuit design, layout, and documentation, and help build test plans while collaborating with senior engineers and technicians to prototype concepts and improve product performance.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a BS or MS Electrical Engineering program with at least 1 year completed.
  • Proficient with electronic design software such as Altium.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, and integration of embedded electrical hardware and firmware under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, design descriptions, test reports, and performance specifications.
  • Assist with engineering specifications and procedures.
  • Participate in lab experiments and testing to evaluate breadboards, prototypes, and early builds.
  • Design and document cables and cable harness assemblies for electromechanical systems.
  • Produce and evaluate engineering prototypes.

Job description

Job Description: The Electrical Engineering Intern will support the design, development, and testing of electrical components and systems across active product development programs. Responsibilities may include assisting with circuit design, layout and documentation, performing engineering analyses, building and executing test plans, collecting and interpreting data, and documenting results to support design decisions. The intern will collaborate closely with senior engineers, cross‑functional partners, and technicians to prototype concepts, troubleshoot issues, and improve product performance. This role provides hands‑on experience with real engineering challenges, exposure to the full product development lifecycle, and the opportunity to contribute meaningful work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the design, development, and integration of embedded electrical hardware and firmware under the guidance of senior engineers, contributing to real‑time control system products
  • Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation such as electrical schematics, design descriptions, test reports, and performance specifications
  • Assist with preparing engineering specifications and procedures.
  • Participate in laboratory experiments and testing activities to evaluate breadboards, prototypes, and early product builds
  • Assist with the design and documentation of cables and cable harness assemblies for electromechanical systems
  • Assist with producing and evaluating engineering prototypes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering major. Must have completed at least 1 yr of the program.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills including written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office suite and electronic design software (Altium - preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
