Job summary

Zoox in Foster City, CA is seeking an embedded software engineer for the Body Systems team. You will design, develop, and test real-time embedded software for body, thermal, lighting, and door functions, working with hardware and suppliers to deliver production-ready code.

You will create requirements, design documentation, test plans, and collaborate with vehicle, controls, electrical engineers. Strong C/C++, ARM knowledge, and hands-on debugging are essential.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test embedded software for body, thermal, lighting, and door functions of the Zoox vehicle.
• Create software requirements, design documentation, test plans, and other supporting documentation.
• Work cross-functionally with vehicle engineers, controls engineers, electrical engineers, validation engineers, and suppliers.
• Integrate supplier sub-systems into the Zoox software stack.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development cycle, including prototyping, requirements capture, design, implementation, and validation.

In this role, you will be responsible for embedded software development for the body, thermal, lighting, and closure system functions and sub-systems of the Zoox vehicle. This includes integration of supplier systems, coordination and control of all body sub-systems, and interactions with higher-level systems. You will work closely with vehicle engineers, systems engineers, controls engineers, electrical engineers, and suppliers to create a seamless and highly automated rider experience for the Zoox vehicle. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.
