Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Computer Engineer Embedded Software / Firmware in Baltimore, MD. The role focuses on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining embedded firmware for diagnostic and instrumentation products, with heavy STM32 MCU work and Embedded C/C++.

You will work across the full product lifecycle in collaboration with hardware and systems teams. The position requires on-site work five days a week in Baltimore, MD, with responsibilities spanning real-time firmware, embedded Linux,

Qualifications

Experience designing embedded firmware for microcontroller-based products and medical device instrumentation.
Hands-on development and debugging of firmware for STM32 microcontrollers in embedded environments.
Proficiency with Embedded C and C++ for microcontroller-based systems.
Experience with embedded Linux environments and Linux toolchains (Buildroot).

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller-based products.
Develop bare-metal firmware for STM32 and STM microcontrollers in closed-loop systems.
Implement both bare-metal and RTOS-style software across sensing platforms.
Create and maintain software in embedded Linux environments using Buildroot.
Collaborate with hardware, systems, and software engineers to integrate firmware.
Perform unit, integration, and system-level validation of firmware.
