Job summary

ASSA ABLOY is hiring an Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer II for its American Wireless Lock (AWL) team, onsite in Berlin, CT. You will develop embedded firmware for BLE, Zigbee, WiFi, and other networks, collaborating across hardware and software teams to deliver secure, high-performance solutions.

Requires BS/MS in Computer Engineering/CS, 3+ years embedded C development, and experience with RTOS, Git, Jira, and IoT communication protocols.

Qualifications

3+ years of embedded development experience using C language.
Proficient with C, RTOS, Git, and Jira.
Experience with design, development, and testing of multi-threaded embedded IoT applications and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).
Specializing in code size optimization, execution speed, memory usage, task scheduling, interrupt handling, and power management.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded firmware for next-generation Digital door Lock products (BLE, Zigbee, WiFi, and other networks).
Collaborate with hardware, software, and contract teams; participate in code reviews and unit testing.
Design, implement, and debug firmware; optimize for power, size, and performance.
Work within a scrum team to deliver features on time.
