Job summary

ASSA ABLOY in New Haven, CT is seeking an Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer II to join our American Wireless Lock (AWL) team onsite in Berlin, CT. You will develop firmware for BLE, Zigbee, WiFi, and other IoT communications in a multi-threaded environment.

The role requires 3+ years of embedded development in C, experience with RTOS, Git and Jira, and a passion for optimizing code size, speed, and power management within a Scrum team.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years embedded development using C language.
• Proficient with C, RTOS, Git, and Jira; experience with IoT protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded firmware for BLE, Zigbee, WiFi, and other network tech for next‑gen digital door lock products.
• Collaborate with internal/contract firmware teams, hardware, and system architects.
• Write automated unit tests, review code, and optimize power, size, and speed in a Scrum setting.
