Job summary

Landis+Gyr AG is seeking an Engineer I, Firmware Development to design, develop, test, and maintain firmware for metering devices in an on-site role in Lafayette, IN. The position emphasizes embedded software, debugging, and documentation across new and existing products.

The candidate should hold a bachelor’s in CS/CE/EE and have 2–5 years in embedded firmware development, with strong C/C++ skills and familiarity with testing tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering required.
• 2–5 years of Embedded Software Development experience required.
• Proficiency in C and C++ for firmware.
• Experience with unit testing and test automation.
• Exposure to Real-time operating systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Research, specify design, code, and test firmware for new products.
• Repair and enhance existing products based on feedback or issues.
• Create tools to assist in testing, debugging, designing, and programming.
• Technical support resource for present and past meter functionality.
• Create technical documentation.
• Supports and adheres to Company’s core values.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
