Job summary

Landis+Gyr, a global energy technology leader, seeks a Senior Engineer, Firmware Quality Assurance to verify metering and network products for an international audience. You will design, execute and manage test plans across embedded Linux environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Hands-on testing of embedded Linux systems (user and kernel space).
• Experience testing wireless protocols (RF, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth).
• Strong knowledge of IPv4/IPv6, ICMP, DHCPv6, TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet.
• Experience with Layer 2/3 networking testing.
• Scripting/automation in Python and/or Bash; Robot Framework.
• CI/CD and nightly regression integration.
• Familiar with Jira/TestRail or similar defect tracking tools.
• Electrical metering test environments (residential/commercial).
• Proficiency in C/C++ for firmware debugging.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute and document manual tests for firmware features.
• Validate wireless subsystems and networking behavior.
• Automate firmware tests and integrate into CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and configure test environments from scratch; enable regression.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and share testing practices.
• Lead strategies and standards for firmware QA testing.
