Job summary

i2G Systems seeks an Embedded Electronic Security Technician to maintain and repair electronic security devices and door hardware inside data center environments. The role involves independent work and close collaboration with client personnel and external vendors.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, and diagnostic tools, plus strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with access control systems (Genetec, Lenel, Mercury preferred)
• Sentra IDS and CCTV experience is relevant
• Proficient with diagnostic tools (multimeter, line toner, cable tester)
• Able to use boom/scissor lifts and platforms daily
• Strong MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Creative/problem-solving mindset for uncommon applications
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication; customer-focused

Responsibilities

• Execute, track, and update ticket assignments.
• Maintain professional client interactions and clear communications.

This position will be embedded within multiple datacenters to provide ongoing maintenance and repair of electronic security devices and door hardware. Focusing on live building environments, technicians will be working alongside client personnel, external vendors, and their clients. A successful Embedded Electronic Security Technician can work independently, with minimal supervision, provide daily updates of ticket work performed, and reach out to his team manager for support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Execute, track, and update ticket assignments.
• Be professional in client interactions with focus on excellent communications.
• Coordinate with other stakeholders who may need to be involved with tickets.
• Read and understand written specifications, drawings and controlling documents. Maintain current and accurate documentation of systems.
• Record changes made to systems for accurate change management.
• Perform user training, as required, when improper user operation is observed.
• Perform all work in a manner consistent with policies, procedures, and standards.
• Ensure repairs are tested with client and accepted before closing tickets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of general access control systems. Genetec, Lenel, and Mercury knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Sentra Intrusion Detection and CCTV experience will be most relevant
• Effectively utilize diagnostic tools, such as a Multimeter, Line Toner, Cable Tester, etc.
• Utilize boom and scissor lift equipment and/or platform ladders on a daily basis.
• Skills/experience using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
• Ability to be creative and resourceful in obtaining solutions to uncommon applications.
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team atmosphere.
• Strong organization skills, time management, and attention to detail.
• Proficient verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
• Customer focus and a strong commitment to client satisfaction.
