Job summary

Redpanda is pioneering the Agentic Data Plane, embedding engineers with strategic customers to build production-grade agents, data pipelines, and integrations in real customer environments. Forward Deployed Engineers work on-site, delivering end-to-end technical outcomes without demos, in the customer's ecosystem and timelines.

You will be the hands-on builder, collaborating daily with the customer's engineers, and ensuring the integration withstands live production and handoff to the customer

Qualifications

• 6-10+ years of professional experience in a mix of software engineering and customer-facing technical roles.
• Production software development with backend systems, data pipelines, APIs, or agent systems in production.
• Experience with LLM APIs and building integrations between complex systems.
• Ability to operate in unfamiliar codebases and environments.
• Strong customer-facing communication with engineering teams as a credible technical partner.
• Shipped at a customer site or deployment context and know the difference between a demo and live production.

Responsibilities

• Build at the customer site, writing production-quality agents, integrations, and data pipelines in the customer environment.
• Adapt quickly to new codebases and data environments without breaking existing systems.
• Own the technical deliverable from design through handoff, ensuring maintainability and production readiness.
• Collaborate with customer engineers and earn their trust, ensuring seamless integration with their existing stack.
• Document work for handoff and train customer teams on what you built.
• Identify patterns across engagements and relay insights to Product and Engineering.
