RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, is hiring a software engineer for embedded systems, cybersecurity, and communications in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will join a fast-growing software team focused on resilient connectivity and next-generation platforms, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex challenges.

The role requires a STEM degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, with the ability to obtain a DoD TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Experience developing embedded software using object-oriented design.

Responsibilities

• Support research and development projects focused on cyber security technologies.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams of hardware, software, communications, and systems engineers to develop, integrate, and evaluate cybersecurity technologies.
• Support technology demonstrations and testing to evaluate new cybersecurity solutions and capabilities.
• Assist with technical proposal preparation and government-sponsored research and development activities.
• Collaborate with technology stakeholders across Collins and with customers to support project goals and objectives.
• Travel up to 10% of the time.
