Job summary

Vertiv in the United States is seeking an embedded Controls Engineer (Linux) to support our thermal controls applications. You will develop and maintain embedded Linux firmware, focusing on PID loops and device communication across TI SoC/ARM/x86 platforms.

Responsibilities include full lifecycle development, testing plans, debugging, technical writing, and field startup support. HVAC knowledge is highly beneficial; strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and strong emphasis on embedded software.
• 1+ years of experience with embedded Linux-based controls.
• PLC firmware development knowledge.
• Knowledge of basic programming languages (PLC, Structured Text, C/C++, Javascript, HTML, Python, Bash Shell).
• HVAC knowledge is highly desired.
• Fluency in English required; fluency in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and support thermal unit control firmware (PID loops, device interactions).
• Follow full lifecycle development: design, programming, debugging, testing, reviews, documentation.
• Develop test plans, backlogs, and provide time estimates with project management.
• Troubleshoot existing systems; perform product testing and field startup support.
• Produce technical writing and service documentation; support hardware development.
