The KYO Group’s R&D – Data Systems Engineer role in our Technology Center focuses on building and improving software, data acquisition, databases, and lab systems to support product verification and testing.

You will collaborate with R&D engineers and technicians to integrate hardware, instrumentation, and data management for cold-storage and lab equipment, providing local ownership of engineering design apps including SolidWorks.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Engineering/Software related field preferred; Associate degree with significant experience considered.
• 3+ years of experience developing, implementing, or maintaining software and data systems in engineering/lab/test environments.
• Experience with data acquisition and automated test systems; databases for engineering/test data.
• Experience developing software/test applications using LabVIEW, Python, SQL, C/C++, .NET or similar environments.
• Experience integrating software with DAQ hardware, PLCs, instrumentation, sensors, or other test equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot data acquisition and test-control systems for controlled-environment testing.
• Develop and maintain software applications and test scripts to control lab equipment, acquire data, and automate tests.
• Integrate instrumentation and control hardware (thermocouples, sensors, transducers, DAQ, PLCs).
• Translate test requirements into data acquisition, instrumentation, and automation solutions.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, communications, and data-quality issues in lab testing.
• Support configuration, commissioning, and lifecycle maintenance of lab test systems.
• Develop and maintain databases for secure storage, organization, retrieval, and analysis of test data.
• Maintain data integrity, availability, backup, and redundancy for test data.
• Develop efficient data transfer methods from lab equipment into databases/tools.
• Standardize test-data structures, metadata, and reporting; improve accessibility while maintaining controls.
• Document critical lab applications, configurations, interfaces, and system dependencies.
• Coordinate software installation, configuration, licensing, upgrades, and troubleshooting for SolidWorks and related engineering software.
• Evaluate new software and lab technology and provide recommendations based on capability and needs.
• Maintain documentation for critical lab apps and system dependencies.
• Apply Lean / continuous improvement practices to automate repetitive tasks and reduce test-system variability.
