Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to help shape tomorrow’s heavy equipment. You will design real-time control systems and collaborate across teams to deliver robust, AUTOSAR-enabled software for mobile machinery.

Based in Mossville, IL, this full-time role invites strong performers who can lead development using MATLAB/Simulink, Model- and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing, and post-production support. Travel to field sites may be required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience with requirements, software specification, and workflow management.
• Well-versed in version control and configuration management tools for software development.
• Proficiency with AUTOSAR and generating AUTOSAR-compliant code from Simulink.
• Knowledge of software testing methods like Model-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop.
• Familiarity with testing tools like Vector Network Interfaces, CANape and CANalyzer.
• Working knowledge of machine systems like power systems, drivetrains and implements.

Responsibilities

• Gather product and system requirements and document control system requirements.
• Design embedded control systems meeting requirements; support AUTOSAR, modularity.
• Lead implementation and delivery of software components with model-based approaches.
• Test, tune and debug embedded software with MIL/SIL/HIL and on-machine testing.
