Job summary

Propeller Industries is seeking an embedded CFO for a portfolio of venture-backed B2B companies. This remote-flexible role involves owning client relationships, strategy, and the delivery engine while leveraging Propeller’s system to scale across 20-40 clients generating $3-5M annually.

You’ll lead strategic discussions, board prep, and cross-functional teams, building a durable advisory practice with a focus on profitability and growth.

Qualifications

• CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• 12+ years in finance/accounting, including 5+ years in CFO or senior leadership roles.
• Multi-client or consulting background strongly preferred.
• Experience serving B2B companies with $5M-$100M+ in revenue.
• Experience building and leading high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the full CFO advisory relationship and portfolio strategy.
• Lead strategic financial discussions and board prep.
• Identify opportunities for deeper engagement and service expansion.
• Build and lead U.S. and international engagement teams.
• Delegate FP&A, accounting, and controller work effectively.
• Ensure quality, timeliness, and continuous improvement.
• Own portfolio financial performance and profitability.
• Optimize margins, utilization, and resource allocation.
• Leverage Propeller’s data platform for differentiated insights.
• Document workflows and contribute to institutional knowledge.
