Job summary

Applied Intuition, Inc. is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design and integrate autonomy and vehicle intelligence systems across hardware and software.

You will deploy algorithms in SIL, HIL and live environments, interfacing with sensors and aircraft subsystems, and work with cross-functional teams for robust deployments. This in-office role requires 3+ years of robotics hands-on experience, C++, and experience with Pixhawk autopilots.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Robotics, Computer Science or related engineering field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience working with robotic systems (hardware, software, and integration).
• Experience with software programming languages: C++ preferred.
• Experience integrating autonomy/robotics products with Pixhawk autopilots (ArduPilot and/or PX4).
• Experience with communication buses & protocols: UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI/QSPI, I2C, Ethernet.
• Experience developing in Docker, containerized deployment environments, and Linux-based operating systems (RHEL, Ubuntu).
• Experience using git, Visual Studio Code, GitLab.
• Familiarity with real-time, edge computing, and safety-critical systems operating in SIL, HIL.

Responsibilities

• Adapt and develop modular autonomy capabilities across defense problems.
• Integrate and deploy autonomy solutions onto embedded Linux and hardware platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex integration and software issues for reliability.
• Integrate autonomy software with hardware for aircraft autopilots, datalinks, sensors, GPS/INS, GCS.
• Support live flight tests of autonomy software on UAVs.
• Collaborate with 3rd party UAS vendors for autonomy software integration.
• Perform system-level setup, testing, and validation (SIL/HIL).
• Work with autonomy engineers to implement service-oriented-architecture and inter-process messaging.
